Hello!
As a book lover, I see books as a magical adventure waiting to happen. For me, the start of my reading journey began with Harry Potter. Being able to grow up with Harry and his friends was very influential to me and helped me through some tough times in my childhood. It was a way to escape into a new and exciting world. I also felt very drawn to Belle from Beauty and the Beast, and not just the Disney version. I love reading/watching any version of the tale that I can get my hands on. I see a lot of myself in Belle because she wanted to find adventure and she loved reading books while not everyone understood this. I wanted to travel, so I decided to teach young children in China from 2018-2022. After the pandemic, I decided I wanted to reach more children and fuel my dreams of traveling. This is what started my online tutoring business. I cannot wait to meet you and learn more about your story!

My Current 1:1 Classes
Phonics
In this class, we work on letter recognition and sounds. We start with the alphabet and move on to short and long vowels. Once children are confident in blending, we move on to digraphs, consonant blends, vowel teams and more complicated phonics sounds. Sight words are also included in this curriculum.
Reading
In this class, we work on reading and comprehension. We learn how to make connections with the text, ask and answer questions, and make predictions. We also review grammar concepts and other literacy concepts based on the book being read.
Writing
In this class, we work on writing skills. For beginners, we work on sentence stucture and writing a 5 star sentence. For more advanced writers, we work on longer writing such as creative writing. We work using adjectives to make our writing more colorful.
Kindergarden Book Club
In this book club, kindergarten level readers will read fun picture books.We will play vocabulary games, trivia games, make projects, and create a craft based on the book. Children will also work on their listening and speaking skills.
